I can’t say enough about this house.
It is all that you imagine when you envision an old New England home. The livingroom, the oldest room of the house built in 1694, has an enormous fireplace and a huge summer beam. The rooms are large, ceilings high, the only uncharacteristic aspects of the house. But it is the wide pine floors ,original doors, mouldings and secret staircases that give the home warmth and memory.
I will be posting some history on the house soon. Check back in. For now get the specifics on the “My Listings” page.

Alright just a quick update. That is all I have time for. It is nuts right now and I am scratching my head more then ever before.
Ok, so, everyone wants to take advantage of the tax credit I get that but does it make sense to get into bidding wars over a house to save $8,000????
Yes, you wouldn’t believe it but that was what was going on. But now it seems we are at the end, people are just trying to get everything signed by Friday now. Not a good week to be a real estate attorney.
I never thought I would say this but I am looking forward to a break from the credit.
More after April 30th

So, if you want to take advantage of the tax credit then this is THE weekend. As a result… a frenzy. In Beverly alone 18 new listings have come on in the last two weeks and there are 43 open houses this sunday. 43 open houses and that is just Beverly.
So let’s just say you are a buyer looking to spend up to $350,000 in Beverly, Danvers, or Salem. In the last two weeks 31 new listings have come on and there are 90 open houses for you to choose from. It is odd. Just a month ago I was complaining that we didn’t have enough inventory for the first time home buyer market. Why did everyone wait until the last second to list their house? Now there are too many choices and not enough time to decide.
But excuse my pessimistic sounding rant. I am actually really looking forward to a crazy, busy weekend and, as banker and tradesman reported, 64% of consumers think it is a good time to buy so that is good to hear. Because it is!
Rates hover between 5-5.25%
The Tax Credit is still an option – just get under agreement before April 30th
Prices are low and spring has sprung.
Hope to see you out this weekend.

This corner unit has privacy galore – you share one wall with another unit and you are all the way at the end of the hall. No noisy people walking in front of your door all the time. The livingroom is surrounded in windows. Tons of light, your own deck overlooking the pool. Really nice. The space, over 1000 sq ft, gives you room for two good-sized bedrooms and two full baths. great if you are thinking of a roommate. Strong condo association with over $400,000 in reserves! FHA approved building.
If you need to commute to Boston this is perfect – seconds to the train, downtown and beaches.
Check it out!

Yes it is on North Street in Salem but have you thought about…
1. Enjoy what Salem has to offer without being STUCK there. North Street has EASY access to 128 and Kernwood bridge to get out of town.
2. You get a lot more square footage . Over 1500 sqft. for only $235???!!?
3. Right down the street from the commuter rail.
4. North Shore Mall is only 2.5 miles away. Shopping Shopping Shopping.
5. If you like Roast Beef you couldn’t be closer
Now seriously, It is a great condo. Feels like a single family, has charm galore, off street parking and lots of storage. The ceilings are very high, floors are gorgeous and the flow of the rooms works really nicely. Low condo fee too! Check out more on my listing page.

I was just looking over some market statistics for a client and found that there are 11 home currently on the market in Beverly under $300,000. 4 of those homes already have accepted offers. So, is it a seller’s market? Well, you have buyers starting to come out of the woodwork early this year because of the tax credit and only 7 homes in all of Beverly for them to look at!
Here is what the National Association of Realtors has to say about htis trend….
“Existing-home sales rose 5 percent in 2009, and December 2009 sales were 15 percent higher than December 2008. This suggests many areas around the country are showing glimpses of a balanced turnaround for sellers.Housing inventories have steadily declined – an indication home prices in many areas have stabilized and could soon return to normal appreciation patterns. Buyers still have good choices but are purchasing near the bottom of the price cycle with historically low mortgage interest rates. The first-time home buyer tax credit has also been a key motivator in moving sales along.
In addition, current homeowners who are in the market to buy a home can qualify for up to $6,500 if they have a contract in place by April 30, 2010 and close by June 30, 2010.”

This post is from my friend, neighbor and yoga teacher’s blog. I loved it. Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!
My daughter and long-time yogi Sayer offered up this To Do list in a class assignment this, her senior, year. She starts with Adho Mukha Vrksasana, the king of all poses, and moves on from there. Here’s her list:
Do handstands. Nap. Read. Doesn’t matter the book, just read. Climb trees. Bake. Sing. Sing louder. Don’t wear socks when you sleep. Use an electric toothbrush. Cry. Drink water. Know that suffering is optional. Drop what you know. Look at old pictures. Take new ones. Play wiffle ball. Paint. Even if its only one time a year, paint. Eat spinach. Listen to music. Play music. Dance to music. Turn off the music and live in the silence. Walk. Run. Skip. Listen to stories. Tell your own. Yell. Don’t bite your finger nails. Blow bubbles. Travel. Travel some more. And some more. Play with your brother. Play with your sister. If you don’t have siblings, find some. Love your family. Dislike your family but never hate them. Find friends. Be a friend. Friends are your support system. Get off the computer. Laugh. Laugh harder. Make your stomach hurt when you laugh. Go upside down once everyday. It will keep the wrinkles away. Be afraid. Go to bed early. Wake up early. Wake up late. Ride a horse. Make snow angels. Eat. Breathe. Worry and then breathe again.
